Fancy learning about the charity sector? Maybe you want to work in international development?
CAI is recruiting an intern to help with fundraising and overseas projects. This is a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of our work, to gain the experience needed to work in the charity sector and make a real difference.
Applicants should be well-organised, self-motivated and reliable, with a strong interest in international development preferably having graduated in a related subject.

Who is CAI ?
CAI (Childhealth Advocacy International) is an international maternal and child healthcare charity dedicated to saving the lives of pregnant women, children and babies in countries where there is poor healthcare. Our volunteer senior doctors, midwives and nurses work with, support and train local health workers. We advocate for better healthcare in hospitals and the community. Each year 4 million babies die worldwide within their first month of life and 1 in 26 women die during childbirth in Africa. With improved training, care, equipment and advocacy many deaths could be prevented.
What does an internship involve?
This role will involve:
- Learning about our projects
- Assisting with and arranging fundraising events
- Researching funding opportunities
- Helping with outreach events (supermarket stalls, city centre stalls)
- Promoting and monitoring our recycling scheme
- Researching major donors
- Promoting overseas challenges
Hours of work
We are looking for interns who can commit to volunteering for a minimum of 3 months, 3 days a week (full-time) with us.
This role will be based in our office which is located in Nottingham city centre.

- Communications skills e.g. writing for marketing materials, public speaking, PR
- Volunteer Management

CAI is usually looking for people with IT, graphic design skills or marketing skills, to help us with our publicity.
CAI is always very grateful for help with distributing publicity materials.
